To transform a dark and dated terrace home into a contemporary and breezy home, the entire ground floor is being demolished to create an open flow between living room, dining area and large open kitchen with an al-fresco dining nook. By relocating the common bathroom that seperated the dining and kitchen – and blocking natural light – the ground floor of this home will completely open up and become an open and airy abode.
With a lot of emphasis on the large kitchen with island and dining nook, the design will be contemporary with bright colours and elegant finishes. With a mix of relaxed transitional furniture, natural materials and beach colours, the home has a design nod to barefoot luxury living. Large format tiles will connect all the spaces – which can be separated with mild steel framed glass doors or kept all open to enjoy the cross ventilation.
The configuration in the bedrooms are kept and main flooring are retained. While the ceilings on the top floors will extend out for added visual impact and create an open feel.
