This Maisonette had a complete overhaul in 2009 and ten years on, it was time to update some of the areas. While certain designs maintained, the living area, in-law bedroom and electrical was all updated. Floors were levelled for easy access for the elderly live-in mother. Furniture pieces changed, as well as curtains and lights. The bathrooms got some new Sanitary wares.
The main transformation was for the living room, where a specially designed screen was custom made and imported as a feature statement. Indented wallpaper in a bold hand painted mural design completes the Colonial Indian vibe, while keeping it updated and contemporary. The skirting are in marble, polished with an ogee edge for that extra luxury touch. Engineered flooring in broad planks complete the look. Special attention was given to the curtain selections, with seed pearl details in the living room and embroidered curtains for the rest of the home.
Some of the new furniture were specially designed and imported, like the TV console, the shoe cabinet and the coffee table. All pieces are hand carved and made to size. These were married with other pieces found locally to give an overall modern Indian vibe.
In the master bedroom, some fresh paint, new lights, curtains and furniture updated the overall look and gave this Maisonette a new lease on life.
