New York Chic at Yishun
Yishun (HDB BTO 4-room Apartment)
Design areas: Living Room, Dining Area, Kitchen, Master Suite with en-suite, Study Room and Common Bathroom | Project target completion: June 2017 | Renovation budget: high seventy thousand
With owners who lived in the US, this cozy BTO will be designed in a style they are familiar with. Transitional elements with clean and bright colours will transform this typical HDB style apartment into a unique home.
Drawing inspiration from New York apartments, traditional architectural detailing will be simplified and modernized. Creating a contemporary space that won’t fall out of place in Singapore. The challenge will be to keep the space cozy and clutter free.
The initial design featured a semi closed kitchen, mirroring the sliding doors into the study area. This symmetry and balance is something we appreciate and strive for in our designs. On the owners request, the proposal changed to a full open kitchen and dining space.
The master bedroom will get a walk-in wardrobe, by annexing bedroom three into the space. This will free up the floor area in the master bedroom, creating a much needed larger room.
The bathrooms will be retiled and featuring a clean and modern design to match the rest of the home.
