Warm Wood and Cool Marble mixed with Eclectic Natural Styling
Design areas: Living Room, Kitchen, Master Bedroom with En-Suite bathroom, Bedrooms and Powder Room | Project completed: 2017 | Renovation budget: SGD90,000 – SGD105,000
In this collaboration with stylish owners, we created their perfect background to create a unique home where their eclectic mix of natural styling items shine. Keeping the unit bright and airy, we laid blond engineered wood in a herringbone pattern. Our signature tall skirting boards are spraypainted in white and kept to a clean an minimal design. At the ceiling, the detailing is kept clean to tie in with the overall lagom vibe.
Natural marble at the backsplash is offset with light shaker cabinets and the brass accents bring a bit of interest and layering. Keeping consistent with the bright and airy look, the appliances are kept as light as possible, including a white hood. Natural plants are bringing some life to the kitchen and we kept one wall clear from tiles, so the owners could display their colelctions.
In the master bedroom, we connected two rooms to create a walk-in wardrobe and a seperate bedroom. Large mild steel doors bounce the light through the room, but allow the space to be kept closed off to maximize the use of aircon. The wardrobe was spraypainted to create this light mint green hue, which is offset the with the wood floor and marble countertop on the island. Further styling by the owners added more texture and warmth
For the bathrooms, we opted for a mix of marble – specially cut to create a herring bone effect. On the floors, we laid wood tiles to contrast the clean, yet layered look. A grey vanity sets off the overall look and accessories like the round mirror, asymetrical light and other elements create a pintrest worthy look.
